 Web designers are specially trained professionals who can design and create a website, used for a variety of purposes. Freelance designers on the other hand, are professionals who are not employed at a specific company. They work on their own and have the freedom to collaborate with different agencies or companies in the business. So if you are interested in this line of work, here are the different types of freelancing positions that you can enter into today.

Full-time Freelance Web Designer - a full-time designer earns completely from designing work alone. They are not connected to a company. Most of them are location independent. This means that they can work anywhere, as long as there is good and reliable internet connection. If you want to go into full-time freelance work, it is very important that you look for projects from a variety of sources to ensure an endless flow of projects and money. However, just make sure that you are still capable of managing your workload and maintaining the quality of your work.

Part-time Freelance Web Designer - they may work for a company and do freelance work to supplement his or her income. Most of them start out with web designing as a hobby and may even have full-time jobs in a completely different industry. To manage the time, they usually work during off-office hours, taking on smaller and more manageable projects.

Compared to full-time web designers who are employed under a company, freelance web designers do a lot of additional work aside from designing web pages alone. Freelancers usually do their own accounting, look for projects and make the negotiations on their own.

But in spite of this, being a freelance web designer has its own perks as well. They have the freedom to choose what project to work on, at their own pace and time. And lastly, they are location-independent and can work anywhere for as long as there is a reliable Internet connection.
